John Cameron and Lance Tidwell FLXI Mounted 1920s Classic Harley JD Tour?

I found this clipping about well-known JDH riders John Cameron and his pal Lance Tidwell riding their classic Harleys 5,000 miles on their FLXI mounted Harleys.

I am curious if anyone knows more info on these “touring” motorcycles. Are they JD based (which is what I assume) and, if so were they JDH Two Cam powered?

  1. Buzz, yes they are 2 cam powered. the John Cameron bike is at least 88 cdi running 4.75 stroke flywheels. I own the John Cameron bike & the flexi side car. John competed in and finished the 1984 Great american race on this bike with Flexi attached. the Flexi is still in the Great American race trim not seen in this photo. Craig Cameron Taylor
