Motorcycle Cannonball Rolls Into California

We rode into California yesterday on the Motorcycle Cannonball and the temps were colder than anyone expected.

Oil change on my 1929 Harley JDH during gas stop

The old Harley J series motorcycle holds only about 3 to 5 ounces of oil in the sump, and it has a non-recirculating system. So it is a good idea to drain the oil out and refresh it with new every 100 miles or so. This has become a standard practice for most riders every gas stop or two. Here is a photo of me doing it by Felicia Morgan yesterday. I cut down a soda cup to catch the old oil.

Only one and a half more days for us to get to San Francisco and the end of a 4,000 miles coast to coast ride.
